Celtics meet Raptors in Toronto

11/23/2008 - (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The defending NBA champion Boston Celtics head north of the border to take on Atlantic Division rival Toronto in a Sunday afternoon affair at Air Canada Centre.

Kevin Garnett made 8-of-12 field goals en route to scoring 17 points, as the Celtics notched a 95-78 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday.

It was Garnett's first game back in Minnesota, as the long-time Timberwolves player missed the Celtics' contest there last season because of an abdominal strain.

Paul Pierce finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds for Boston, which has won four in a row and 10 of 11. Rajon Rondo added 13 points, seven rebounds and five assists in the win.

Toronto, which is in the midst of a four-game homestand, fell to .500 on the season Friday when former Raptor Vince Carter poured in a season-high 39 points, including the desperation three-pointer at the end of regulation to send the game into overtime and the game-winning alley-oop dunk as time expired in the extra frame to lead the Nets in a wild 129-127 win over Toronto.

Chris Bosh had 42 points and Jose Calderon had season-highs of 26 points and 15 assists for the reeling Raptors, who have dropped four of their last six games.

Andrea Bargnani had a career-high of 29 points and a season-high with 10 boards. Jermaine O'Neal had seven points and seven boards before leaving in the first minute of the fourth quarter with a strained left knee.

ONeal, who has posted averages of 12.9 points and 9.3 rebounds in 12 games this season, had medical images taken of the knee Friday night that revealed no structural damage and his status is listed as day-to-day.

The Raptors will finish their residency with games against Charlotte and Atlanta.

Boston had dominated Toronto recently, winning five of its last six games with the Raptors including a 94-87 win in Boston on November 10 when Pierce scored a season-high 36 points.

Kurt Warner to start, Matt Leinart to watch

Despite the debate that's swirling , Kurt Warner will remain the starting quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals, coach Dennis Green said today. The Arizona Cardinals are the +7 point underdog at online sportsbook MySportsbook.com for this Sunday's game.

Green's comment came in a statement released by the team following an ESPN report that Green decided that rookie Matt Leinart would replace Warner as starter for Sunday's game at Atlanta.

"Generally talking about the starting lineup is not something we do," Green told the AP. "However, given the speculation that was out there we want to make it clear. We're disappointed after last week, but we still expect to be a playoff football team and we fully expect Kurt Warner to be the quarterback that leads us. That has not changed."
